Koda’s Kids Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2012 by Denver Broncos linebacker Dekoda Watson.  Each year, Koda’s Kids provides a scholarship to one student from each of the seven high schools in Aiken County and surrounding areas.  Students do not have to be athletes to be chosen to receive a Koda’s Kids scholarship; however, they must be accepted into a college.

In addition to the scholarship program, Koda’s Kids Foundation holds a football and cheerleading camp each year. Koda’s Kids promotes physical fitness and education while striving for success.

Dekoda Watson was born to Gregory and Angela Watson on March 3, 1988. He has two supportive sisters, Amber and Tamber, a nephew named Skylar, and is the proud father of one son, Chase Riley Watson. He is from Aiken, South Carolina and graduated from South Aiken High School in 2006 where he earned All-State honors as a senior and was named Defensive MVP in the 2005 North Carolina-South Carolina Shrine Bowl. After high school, Dekoda went to Florida State University to play for the Seminoles, and he earned a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Sciences. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League in 2010 and signed a four year contract. He later signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Dallas Cowboys, the New England Patriots, and is currently playing for the Denver Broncos.
Dekoda has strong ties to his hometown of Aiken, South Carolina.  He views football not as his true calling but as a stepping-stone that allows him to give back to others and make a difference in the lives of a younger generation.  As a successful athlete, he strives to give back to the community that has supported him throughout his career.
Dekoda created Koda’s Kids Foundation to provide opportunities for success for underprivileged youth.  The organization encourages youth to set goals and reach them while putting an emphasis on health and education.  The organization stresses the importance of character, a positive life skills, discipline, and self-respect. A phrase that Dekoda lives by is, “Sacrifice today for what you want tomorrow.”

Koda’s Kids Foundation and its associates will give back to the youth of Aiken County and surrounding areas through the awards of scholarships, the promotion of education and strong work ethics, the encouragement of health and fitness, football fundamentals and safety, and the teaching of life skills along with the development of positive character traits that will promote success and prosperity in today’s youth.
